Calhoun County, Texas, "Home of Beaches, Sails and Big
Fish Tales," is located between Galveston and Corpus Christi,
just south of Victoria.
Oceanside RV Park
is located in Magnolia Beach on
Matagorda Bay, Port Lavaca TX 77979. We are about 250ft. from the bay.
Beautiful beachside community consisting of
warm gulf water, white sandy beaches and many beach cottages dot the
community. There is approx 10 miles of white sand beach, picnic tables
and road. Also makes for a great bike ride on the shore.
FISHING.With
the largest and deepest bay system on the Texas Gulf Coast, Calhoun
County has much to offer the avid sports fisherman. The bay is full of
redfish, shark, trout, flounder, pompano, gafftops, whiting, croakers,
sheepheads, drum, jack crevalle, Spanish mackerel and the "silver
king" of game fish, tarpon. We have plenty of space to park your
boat while you stay with us. We have now added a fishing pier for your
convenience.
Birding..For
the past few years Calhoun County has held the record for the most
bird species spotted, in not only the state, but the nation! Birders
were also able to see nine species of herons, egrets, sandhill cranes,
curlews and a variety of shorebirds, gulls, terns, reails and
gallinules.We are surrounded by water in the front and rear of the
park. We have many different species of birds and it is amazing to
just watch.
Not only do we have the most awesome ocean views from the front of
OceanSide RV, we also have a lake in the rear with views to die for. If you
love watching the birds, we have them here. Thanksgiving 2007, here is the
beautiful Pink Flamingos along with so many other birds. I am watching from
my window of my RV. What a life :))
